I am honored to announce my candidacy for Catawba County Sheriff in 2026. As a lifelong resident, my journey from overcoming childhood hardships—foster care, homelessness, and family struggles—to becoming the youngest Chief of Police in North Carolina has fueled my passion for service.

Starting in EMS at 18, I later pursued law enforcement, dedicating myself to strengthening the Brookford Police Department. Under my leadership, we grew from 2 to 10 officers, secured grants, upgraded equipment, and launched impactful community programs like the Annual Christmas Toy Drive and Coffee with a Cop. I also reopened a 33-year-old cold case at a family’s request, demonstrating my commitment to justice.

Catawba County is at a crossroads, and it's clear that our community needs a Sheriff who embodies fresh leadership, transparency, and genuine community engagement. The status quo just isn't cutting it - crime rates are soaring, and talented officers are fleeing our area due to poor management. Meanwhile, our community lacks a critical focus on rehabilitation, which would identify the root cause of the problem.

 

We need a leader who isn't afraid to challenge the norm and think outside the box. We need a leader who will stand up for what's right. A no-nonsense approach that prioritizes real change is long overdue. Our next Sheriff must be committed to:

 

 -Community-Centric Policing: Building trust and collaboration between law enforcement and the community.

- Building Stronger Futures: Delivering targeted programs that tackle crime’s root causes—mentoring youth and rehabilitating offenders—to break the cycle for good.

- Transparency and Accountability: Ensuring that our Sheriff's department is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice.

 

- Effective Management: Recruiting and retaining top talent, and providing our officers with the resources and support they need to excel and be proud of where they work.

 

It's time for a change in Catawba County. We need a Sheriff who will bring a fresh perspective, a commitment to transparency, and a focus on what really matters, NOT POLITICS. Together, we can create a safer, more united Catawba County. I represent the future and I'm committed to serving you!
